In August 2024, Korrun first cross-border talent training programme - KITE project (Korrun International Talent Exchange) was officially launched, seven Indonesian management cadres and one Indian management cadre from different positions were selected to be the first batch of trainees. The company carries out customised training for KITE members through four dimensions: professional ability, management ability, cultural values and cross-cultural communication.
In the dimension of professional competence, through one-on-one training by mentors and conducting seminars and stage review, the trainees from the production management, IE, quality, finance, and HR can receive timely feedback on the improvement points while receiving the job skills training, which further improves the learning efficiency and lays the foundation for the ability to meet the higher demands of the business in the future.
In the dimension of management ability, through the specialised training on basic leadership, participants learnt the basic concepts of leadership and discussed various topics on leadership style, team management, time management, etc. It deepened their knowledge of leadership enhancement and helped to improve their management ability.
In the dimension of culture and values, through corporate culture training, the trainees gained an in-depth understanding of the meaning of the company's culture and values, and shared the stories of culture practice around them, and wrote reflections and practice plans. The trainees had a deep understanding of the culture of Korrun, and also had their own thinking and understanding of how to practice the culture in the future work.
In the dimension of cross-cultural exchange, the trainees attendee the Chinese culture training. Besides daily work, they went out to Nanjing, Chuzhou, Shanghai to have culture trip and team building, to experience the heritage of traditional Chinese culture, but also broaden the international horizons.
After three months of learning and practice, KITE closing ceremony was successfully held in Korrun Chuzhou manufacturing base on November 6. The participants reported on the results of the project, shared their growth and insights. The project initiators and mentors gave feedback. Mentors awarded KITE completion certificates to their respective mentees one by one and sent greeting cards to the mentees. The certificates are not only a recognition of the efforts in the past three months, but also carry the expectations of mentors.
Aini from Korrun soft bag Indonesia manufacturing base spoke on behalf of the trainees: ‘On behalf of all the trainees, I would like to express my thanks to the company for giving us this valuable learning opportunity. This programme has exposed me to a lot of new knowledge, which has not only broadened my horizons, but also greatly enhanced my professional skills. During my time in the China factory, I have gained a deep understanding of digitalisation and its operational processes, and I have also been fortunate enough to meet many excellent mentors and colleagues, all of whom have been of great benefit to me. I will do my best to apply the knowledge and skills I have learnt to practical work and contribute to the development of the company!’
Miss Fan Fengyun, Head of Global 2B Soft Packaging Production Operations of Korrun, the initiator of the programme, said: ‘I am very happy to see the participants have really gained knowledge and skills through the KITE programme, and I am very surprised to see that you are able to explain the whole operation process in a detailed way. You also have a deep recognition of the corporate culture values and the Chinese culture. Thank you very much for the careful guidance and patience of the mentor team, who acted as a bridge for the multinational training programme and helped the trainees to grow and improve. I hope that all members will bring the knowledge and skills you have learnt back to Indonesia without any reservation, and help Korrun to develop its overseas bases. We look forward to more localised talents standing out! I believe that in the coming days, everyone will be able to shine in their respective positions and achieve their career planning goals!’
William, General Manager of Korrun 2B Soft Packaging Chuzhou manufacturing base, said, ‘The KITE programme provides participants with excellent opportunities for self-improvement, and also lays the foundation to take on more important management positions in the future. I hope you can apply what you learnt to your real work, and learn how to make excellent plans by mastering key skills such as planning, organising, coordinating, controlling and executing, and grow into talents who can play a leading role in your work and help improve the efficiency and synergy of various departments. We hope that you will excel in your future career and become a model for the company, and jointly promote the development of the company!’
Allen, General Manager of Korrun 2B Soft Packaging Indonesia Manufacturing Base, also expressed his thanks and expectations: ‘On behalf of the Korrun Indonesia team, I would like to thank the company for the importance and support, which covers a wide range of departments such as, production, IE, finance, HR, etc. It is the first time for the Indonesian team to go to China to learn about the core processes and management systems of the domestic factories. At the same time, we also thank all the trainees and mentors for their efforts and dedication. We hope that when the Indonesian trainees return to Indonesia, they will be able to apply what they have learnt in China to their work, get into the state quickly, give full play to their strengths, and become management talents that can be uniquely competent in overseas bases!’
The three-month programme time passed by, and the participants learnt, experienced, challenged and cooperated in China, learning knowledge and experience, and understanding culture and spirit. We believe that every KITE programme participant will be full of harvest and bravely step into the future.
The KITE programme is closely related to Korrun Group's strategy of ‘All Going Global’, and focuses on the principles of ‘endogenous’ and ‘localisation’ of management cadres, through sending high potential employees in key positions of Korrun Indonesian and Indian manufacturing bases to China for exchange learning in terms of work skills, practical experience, and cultural experience. Not only does it set up a growth platform for the trainees to cross the border, and promote the improvement of their personal abilities, but also these talents will serve as a bridge between Korrun China and its overseas bases. This will provide a solid talent base for the company's long-term development and promote Kairun's globalisation and continuous refinement of talent cultivation!
