Korrun Dream Center Officially Launched

Last week, Korrun, China leading travel consumer goods company, officially announced the donation of the first six Dream Centers for literacy education in Wuxu Town, Dingyuan County, Chuzhou City, Anhui Province. With the support of the Dingyuan County Government, Korrun aims to help children in remote villages to realize their educational dreams. The six Dream Centers are located in six Primary Schools of Dingyuan County separately, and will be supported by the Shanghai Adream Foundation for a period of five years with curricula, teacher training, and on-site support.
Zhao Peisen, Director of Dingyuan County Education and Sports Bureau, Xu Dashan, Director of Teaching and Research Office of Dingyuan County Education and Sports Bureau, Zhu Qixin, Mayor of Wuxu Town, Tong Chao, Principal of Wuxu Primary School, Hu Bin, Director of Shanghai True Love Dreams Public Welfare Foundation, and Fan Lijuan, Deputy General Manager of Korrun, and headmasters of the other five dream schools attended the donation ceremony. The first course of Dream Center in Wuxu Primary School designed interesting topics, combining with practical teaching and in-depth scientific and innovative learning model to let children rapidly improve their thinking and show their innovative ideas.
Korrun Culture of Philanthropy
Philanthropy should not simply solve the immediate problems, but to think about the future from a long-term perspective, to form a sustainable programme. To solve education problems, Korrun finally chose the Shanghai Adream Foundation. Firstly, the Dream Center literacy education programme enables children to foster self-confidence during the initiation stage, and to develop the correct values and key abilities necessary for personal growth and social adaptation. Secondly, the Shanghai Adream Foundation is the first charity foundation in China to publish annual reports in accordance with the standards of a listed company. It has already built 4,238 Dream Centers in 31 provincial districts across the country, with a mature commercialized management model, contributing to about 4.7 million rural teachers and students in urban schools, laying the foundation for sustainable development of literacy education.
Under the guidance the modern concept of philanthropy, Korrun also helped the local government to solve the poverty problem, hasbuild eight factories in Dingyuan Luqiao town, Daqiao town, Yihe town, Fangang town and Zhangbaling town of Chuzhou Province, to provide work opportunities for the poor and facilitate the nearby flexible employment. Korrun also actively promoted the construction of factory in Wuxu Town, to provide platform for poor households to have a stable income.
Practising Corporate Responsibility and making contribution to society with Dream Center
Since 2005, Korrun has been steadily expanding its business in travelling consumer goods field with the mission of Make Travel Better. As the first and only listed company of bags and travelling consumer goods in China, Korrun has achieved an annual growth rate of about 40% for ten consecutive years. Korrun took the initiative to link the resources of company with Chuzhou local, and cooperated with the Shanghai Adream Foundation to create a literacy education programme for children in Chuzhou, and to jointly promote the overall development of local education. The first course of Dream Center aims for the training for local teachers under the age of 35. Through training, the teachers learned about the charity and understood the innovative teaching methods and educational concepts. All teachers said that they will keep in touch with the Dream Center.
